When did Kate Ryan Linens begin?
Early Fall of 2009
What made you want to open Kate Ryan Linens?
Simple – we love beautiful and unique fabrics!
What sets you apart from other linen vendors in the Tampa area?
Careful attention to detail, our in-studio linen consultation experience for our clients, and our quest to make unique and quality fabrics available for rental.

What were you doing before KRL and did that have any role in your decision to start your business?
My degree is in Interior Design and I worked as the Visual Merchandise Manager/Store Designer & Buyer for several Ethan Allen Design Centers in the Tampa Bay area for 9 years, my husband Dan has a degree in Business Administration from The University of Tampa and has linen and dry cleaning processing experience as he previously owned a commercial laundry renting restaurant linen. Our daughter Kate Ryan is also part of the business and worked through high school helping with set ups and ironing and is now studying Hospitality Management as a freshman this year at Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft Myers, FL.
(Oh So Classy note: Talk about a family effort!! We love this. )
What is your design process?
Our in-studio linen styling & design experience is centered around our clients style, color palette, venue location, and budget.
What has been your favorite wedding to style linen for?
Each one is so unique so its so hard to say. We love to see and be involved with so many different styles. During my time with Ethan Allen I designed by lifestyle and had a broad range of different looks that I had to create to appeal to our customers so I believe that really helped me in this business to help our customers find or understand their unique style.

Who or what is your biggest day to day inspiration?
Honestly this might sound cliche, but really and truly we are inspired by making our clients happy and helping them or their event designer envision their dream wedding through beautiful fabrics.
How do you keep up with wedding trends?
We love classic design as well as watching new trends though various outlets. I believe that inspiration and trends can really come from anywhere. Most recently we were working on a custom linen project for an event designer and the textural inspiration for the fabric we sourced came from the moving metallic, textural columns at this years Oscars Awards.

If there is one thing you want brides to know about your linens and other rentals, what would it be?
We hand press our linen and individually spot treat and inspect each linen in order to offer the best quality linen rental available. Having fine linen is sometimes an underestimated element when planning a wedding, when in fact it actually takes up the most visual square footage over any other decor item. We like to think that beautiful fabric is like this great canvas; therefore, it holds the opportunity to set the tone for the remainder of the design, decor and details.
If you could style any celebrity wedding, who’s would it be?
Oh, wow this is a tough one….there are so many celebrities today that we would love to be a part of their wedding, but if I could choose anyone at any point in time it would be a cross between Coco Chanel and Ralph Lauren because Iconic style is timeless.
